Responsibilities

Provides clinical support and/or operating room assistance under the supervision of a licensed physician

Works with a wide variety of healthcare professionals to deliver direct patient care before, during, and after procedures or surgery

Provides a safe, efficient environment for the surgical patient and staff

Works in accordance with Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) standards of practice

Adheres to MCHS policies/procedures, universal precautions, and sterile technique

Qualification

Surgical Technologist certificationBLS CertificationHealthcare experiencePatient careTeamwork

Required

Graduate of a surgical technologist program or military equivalent

BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHS) required within three months of hire

Surgical Technologist certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within one year of hire and maintain throughout employment

Must meet criteria for hospital and ambulatory surgery staff privileges (where applicable)

May require additional specialty or department-specific certifications (where applicable)
