Responsibilities

You will assist the Operating Room Surgeons and staff to assure a safe and therapeutic environment for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients undergoing surgical procedures
You will communicate with surgeon continuously as needed about the patient’s condition and assist surgeon during operative and invasive procedures
You will assist circulator and anesthesia provider in preparation of the patient/OR Suite to include but not limited to Foley catheter placement; tourniquet application; cricoid pressure application; gathering needed supplies/equipment for the procedure; other procedures as needed
You will have accountability for delivering quality patient care and for promoting a positive image of the department
You will demonstrate team work, adaptability, and serve as a resource to the Surgical Services team

Required

Completion of a Surgical Technologist certification program required from an accredited educational institution, or medical graduate such as Medical Doctor, Doctor of Osteopathy or foreign medical graduate; and completion of the Surgical Assisting Certification Exam
Certification as Certified Surgical Technologist required
Certification as a Surgical First Assist required
2 years' experience as Certified Surgical Technologist required
Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required

Preferred

1 year experience as a Surgical First Assist preferred
