Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is inviting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in theoretical and computational studies of quantum information science. The role involves expertise in various areas such as quantum information theory, quantum algorithms, and hybrid quantum-classical computation, with an emphasis on innovative teaching and impactful research.

Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in physics and astronomy
Conduct research in theoretical and computational studies of quantum information science
Mentor students and engage in service to the university and community
Develop an active research program that involves undergraduate students
Qualification
Required
A terminal degree in physics or a closely related field is required by the appointment date
Applicants must include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy, and statement of research or creative activities as separate attachments at the time of online application
The research statement should include a plan for establishing an active research program that fully engages undergraduates
Preferred
Applicants whose research bridges theory and application, or connects to national quantum centers, laboratories, or industry, and those with a proven track record for mentoring women and minorities will receive special consideration
