Training & Process Development Specialist
Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Training & Process Development Specialist to design, deliver, and maintain effective training programs and standardized workflows for retail employees. The role involves creating practical training materials, delivering training sessions, and observing workflows to improve onboarding and productivity across all stores.

Responsibilities
Confident working alongside store employees to demonstrate processes and coach in real time
Skilled at observing work, documenting steps, and simplifying complex tasks into clear workflows
Able to create and present materials that resonate with a variety of learning styles and literacy levels
Works independently, manages priorities, and drives projects to completion
Uses feedback and data to refine training and workflows over time
Build and deliver engaging new-hire onboarding programs tailored to retail operations
Create short, practical job aids, videos, and checklists to support day-to-day learning
Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions as needed, adjusting delivery style for the audience
Observe and document core workflows such as donation intake, production, merchandising, cashiering, and safety protocols
Work with store managers to validate processes and roll out updated SOPs
Keep all documentation current, accessible, and easy for employees to use
Provide direct, hands-on coaching to new employees and supervisors to reinforce proper procedures
Support store managers with 'train-the-trainer' tools so they can sustain learning on site
Track completion of training and process adoption
Collect employee and manager feedback to continuously improve content and delivery
Report progress to Retail Operations and Executive Leadership
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in human resources, education, organizational development, or equivalent work experience
2–4 years of experience in employee training, onboarding, or process documentation — preferably in a retail or service environment
Demonstrated ability to create simple, easy-to-follow SOPs, checklists, and training materials
Experience facilitating small group and one-on-one training
Ability to obtain acceptable results for required background checks, including but not limited to Act 151 Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, and Department of Human Services- FBI Fingerprints
Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record, and/or dependable transportation, which can be used for work
Hands-on Training Delivery: Confident working alongside store employees to demonstrate processes and coach in real time
Process Mapping: Skilled at observing work, documenting steps, and simplifying complex tasks into clear workflows
Communication Skills: Able to create and present materials that resonate with a variety of learning styles and literacy levels
Self-Starter: Works independently, manages priorities, and drives projects to completion
Continuous Improvement Mindset: Uses feedback and data to refine training and workflows over time
Frequent travel between retail store locations
Extended time standing, walking sales floors, and observing work
Ability to use a computer to create materials and maintain documentation
