Responsibilities

Directly manage a growing team of 3 AI Engineers
Hire and retain extraordinary AI Engineers
Set the bar for engineering performance and quality standards
Conduct performance reviews for direct reports
Maintain a healthy, productive working environment for engineers
Plan and execute on AI architectural investments in coordination with Product and Engineering Leadership

Required

Has worked at an early-stage, product-based startup before (<50 people)
Experience building production software with LLMs-in-the-loop
Experience experimenting and implementing emerging frameworks, practices and standards with LLMs
Able to move quickly on tasks while producing high-quality results
Direct and candid with leadership, peers, and direct reports
Experience mentoring and growing employees
Experience as an architect - proven ability to design and implement robust and scalable systems with flexible and scalable UI that meets future needs
Experience overseeing and managing projects across teams
Experience working on a product in a regulated domain or where data privacy + security were essential
Experience leading with a data-first mindset
