Responsibilities

Serve as one of the first engineering hires, taking full ownership of backend initiatives
Lead projects end-to-end: defining requirements, proposing solutions, and executing across large, distributed systems
Design, build, and maintain APIs and backend services that power enterprise clients
Work across multiple layers of the platform to improve performance, reliability, and scalability
Contribute to engineering culture, tooling, and best practices while mentoring others as the team grows

Required

4+ years of software engineering experience at high-growth startups or scale-ups
Proven ability to lead projects across large codebases with minimal supervision
Strong technical foundation in backend systems, distributed architectures, and system design tradeoffs
Proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript, and Python
Strong documentation, testing, and communication skills
Ownership mindset—someone who thrives in fast-paced, self-directed environments

Preferred

Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments (Kubernetes, microservices)
Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.)
Background in healthcare, enterprise SaaS, or other highly regulated industries
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
