Responsibilities
Fabricate armatures, frames, and assemblies using welding, machining, and mechanical fastening techniques
Interpret and follow design drawings and specifications
Operate and maintain metalworking tools and equipment, including mills, lathes, and saws
Integrate off-the-shelf components (e.g., bearings, pneumatic cylinders, motors) into custom assemblies
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and refine fabrication processes
Ensure all fabricated elements meet quality and safety standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Take on additional fabrication and shop tasks as needed
Qualification
Required
Strong foundation in welding and machining
Experience in building mechanical systems and creative structures
Ability to fabricate armatures, frames, and assemblies using welding, machining, and mechanical fastening techniques
Ability to interpret and follow design drawings and specifications
Ability to operate and maintain metalworking tools and equipment, including mills, lathes, and saws
Ability to integrate off-the-shelf components (e.g., bearings, pneumatic cylinders, motors) into custom assemblies
Ability to collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and refine fabrication processes
Ability to ensure all fabricated elements meet quality and safety standards
Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Ability to take on additional fabrication and shop tasks as needed
Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding (mild steel and stainless steel)
Experience with machining tools such as lathe and mill
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with pneumatics, motors, and basic electromechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
5–7 years of hands-on fabrication experience in a shop or production environment
Valid driver's license and clean work history
Ability to work efficiently across multiple tasks and projects
Preferred
Hands-on experience with circuitry, troubleshooting, and problem-solving in a production environment
Programming ability for control system optimization (Weigl controls experience is a plus!)
Experience working with high-profile clients and IP holders a plus
A passion for animatronics, robotics, and entertainment technology
