Reviews charges for correct coding and forwards to Billing Company
Ensures we are providing required documentation for participation in third party payment incentive programs
Processes and posts all payment types in the electronic practice management/health records system
Generates and mails billing statements from the electronic practice management/health records system
Answers telephone and in-person inquiries regarding explanation of benefit documents for, charges, payments and adjustments and amounts due
Ensures accuracy of information in the electronic practice management/health records system
Trains and supervises student workers
Identifies coding irregularities within electronic practice management/health records system
Performs other duties as assigned
Processes and posts insurance payment in the electronic practice management/health records system
Processes and posts patient payments in the electronic practice management/health records system
Answers telephone and person inquiries and/or routes to appropriate personnel
Trains and supervises student workers
Identifies coding irregularities within electronic practice management/health records system
Provides training related to coding errors
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Three (3) to four (4) year of experience medical office billing and coding
Three (3) years of experience with electronic health records (EMP/HER) system
Three (3) years of experience with insurance claims processing
High school diploma or equivalent
One (1) to two (2) years of experience medical office billing and coding
One (1) year of billing functions on electronic health records (EPM/EHR) system
One (1) year of experience with insurance claims processing
Preferred
Certified Professional Coding (CPC) Certification or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification
