The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent applications, and provide strategic guidance on intellectual property matters to clients in the biotechnology sector.

Responsibilities
Prepare and file patent applications with the USPTO
Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses
Assist clients in developing and implementing IP strategies
Review and analyze scientific literature and patent databases
Work closely with inventors to document inventions and guide them through the patent process
Communicate with patent examiners and respond to office actions
Monitor and analyze competitive IP activity in the biotechnology field
Qualification
Required
PhD in Biology or a related field, preferred
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Experience or knowledge in patent law and intellectual property
Strong understanding of biological sciences and biotechnology
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred
Prior experience as a Patent Agent or in an intellectual property role is a plus
