Responsibilities
Performs and verifies (reports) laboratory tests and/or prepares products for transfusion on
Performs quality control (QC) processes and proficiency testing (PT) as assigned
Maintains laboratory equipment, instruments, reagents and/or supplies and documentation
Follows all institution and department policies and procedures
Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
Direct, review, and /or verify work of other clinical laboratory personnel, students, and/or nursing
Any Clinical Laboratory Technologist meeting NYSDOH qualifications of supervisor (part 58 of 10 NYCR, section 1.4) may be required to perform supervisory functions in the absence of the regular supervisor
Performs other duties within their scope of practice as assigned
Qualification
Required
Qualified as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in accordance with New York State Department of Health regulations
Minimum 1 year experience in standard laboratory methodologies, required
Licensure by NYS SED as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist required, or licensure-eligible
