WASS Armament Technical Advisor
AAR is a company focused on innovative aerospace solutions, and they are seeking a WASS Armament Technical Advisor to support the Department of State’s Worldwide Aviation Support Services Contract. The role involves maintaining accountability and training for weapons and ammunition, serving as a subject matter expert, and supporting counternarcotics missions in various locations.
Responsibilities
Maintain an arms room IAW Physical Security of Arms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Storage regulations
Maintain 100% accountability of weapons, ammunition, flares, and other munitions assigned to the program
Be prepared for both scheduled and no notice arms room inspections
Prepare briefings and serve as the subject matter expert on assigned weapons
Train, advise, and assist aircrew in the full spectrum of crew served weapons support
Complete inventories and maintain required documentation of all assigned weapons, equipment, and ammunition
Conduct individual responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures
Complete accurate inventories, Mission Information Systems data, and Daily Report entries
Responsible for daily operations of the arms room and accountability of all weapons and assigned equipment
Responsible for safe and efficient issue and collection of assigned weapons
Train, advise and assist host nation personnel assigned to an Armament Program
Conduct assessments and provide written reports to in-country leadership team
Perform other duties as assigned
Obtain and maintain a US security clearance
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or Equivalent
CMF 63 Mechanical Maintenance MOS series or another military or commercial equivalent
Completion of associated weapons school for weapons supported before or incident to assignment
Seven (7) years' experience in all aspects of maintenance and repair of military weapons and weapons systems
Seven (5) years' experience in maintaining and repairing M240, M60D, M4 and/or M9 weapons
Experience managing an arms room
English as primary language
Spanish fluency level 3/3 (speak, read, write)
Preferred
Experience in arms room procedures IAW AR 190-11 Physical Security of Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives preferred
Experience with training and advising host nation personnel in Central and South America
Previous experience as a member of DoD Training and Assistance Field Team (TAFT)
45B MOS or other service equivalent
