Responsibilities
The vascular technologist operates ultrasound equipment to make quality images of designated portions of the body under the direct order of a physician and in accordance with standard operating procedures
Accomplishes patient care in a timely, professional, efficient, and safe manner
The vascular technologist must be able to think and act independently and assess emergency situations accurately
Good oral and written communication skills are required
The Vascular Technologist may be required to perform invasive and non-invasive procedures on a variety of patients, utilize sterile techniques and assist physicians as necessary throughout the Mission Health System
Continuing education, learned skills and experience will be utilized
This position will function without constant supervision to produce superior quality imaging studies
Qualification
Required
Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
ARDMS or ARRT Registry in Ultrasound at time of hire
Vascular Ultrasound Registry from either ARDMS, ARRT or CCI upon time of hire
Must complete required CEU's to maintain certification
BCLS certified
Technologist must participate in section QA programs as necessary and complete required educational guidelines in addition to the ARRT, ARDMS or CCI re-certification guidelines
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in healthcare related profession
ARDMS in multiple specialties
12 months previous experience in ultrasound
