Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering

Responsibilities

Possess a B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering and have received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field by the time of appointment
Demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, a record of published research commensurate with years of experience, and the ability to develop and sustain a research program that will lead to original, peer-reviewed publications
Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with departmental colleagues
Communicate effectively with colleagues and with a student body representing a wide range of backgrounds, life experiences, and educational pathways, including individuals who are the first in their families to pursue STEM education
Demonstrated commitment to teaching with research-based and instructional practices such as project-based learning or community service learning, with an ability to engage and support students from a variety of educational and personal backgrounds
Interest in and/or experience with course development, laboratory development, program assessment, ABET accreditation
Experience/potential building industry partnerships; active participation in professional societies such as the IEEE, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, etc

Required

Possess a B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering and have received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field by the time of appointment
Applicants with ABD status will be considered, but the applicant must possess a doctoral degree on the starting date
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, a record of published research commensurate with years of experience, and the ability to develop and sustain a research program that will lead to original, peer-reviewed publications
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with departmental colleagues
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and with a student body representing a wide range of backgrounds, life experiences, and educational pathways, including individuals who are the first in their families to pursue STEM education

Preferred

Earned Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering
