Sr. Analyst, FP&A
The Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a Senior Analyst for their FP&A operations. This role involves managing the annual budgeting process, financial performance reporting, and supporting initiatives to streamline and automate FP&A functions.
Responsibilities
Develop deep understanding of the underlying operations and drivers for the budgets. Lead and manage the annual budgeting process including, guidelines, systems and tools, change tracking, and review and approval. Lead and manage the long-range planning process including, guidelines, systems and tools, change tracking, and review and approval
Manage and operate the management reporting and analysis process, including reports and variance analysis, trend analysis, corresponding systems and tools, and review process with operating management for the major/moderate operation(s) supported. Work with the operations supported to develop appropriate plans to manage financial issues and opportunities and achieve budgets
Leverage the budgeting and management reporting processes to drive accountability and financial control and help ensure the APC operation supported meets financial targets
Participates in the operation of enterprise-wide FP&A processes (e.g., annual budgeting) and enterprise-wise infrastructure (e.g., OneStream)
Identify, design and develop opportunities to improve FP&A processes and systems, maximizing the use of automation
Supports initiatives to streamline, automate, and properly control the FP&A function
Supports goal setting and achievement process
No formal supervisory responsibility
Travel (0 – 10%) to attend meetings at other AoC locations in the Chicago metropolitan area including Quigley, Myers, USML, PRMMA, etc. (dependent on support roles assigned to each Sr. Analyst)
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in financial accounting and reporting and/or FP&A
Undergraduate degree in Finance/Accounting, with a preference for advanced degrees in accounting, finance or business
Strong experience in FP&A, with demonstrated business acumen and financial analysis capabilities
Initiative-taking-ability to assume independence and suggest opportunities for continual improvement
Ability to synthesize data and information into key messages, implications and recommended actions
Strong interpersonal skills-ability to build confidence and trust
Comfortable with high change environments and turnaround environments
Strong ability to set priorities in a complex environment while meeting priority goals and objectives
Cross-functional consensus-building and coordination ability, particularly with non-Finance functions
Strong detail orientation and willingness to engage in detail as necessary, without sacrificing the overall perspective
Demonstrated high integrity and ethics in all operations and responsibilities
Affinity for mission-driven, not-for-profit organizations and a commitment to serving the Catholic Church in the Chicago area. Must demonstrate understanding, respect and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission and values
Preferred
CPA and/or MBA are desirable
Experience in not-for-profit organizations is preferred
Major financial systems experience is desirable: Microsoft Office suite; Lawson G/L or comparable, Hyperion/OneStream
Major/moderate project experience
