Responsibilities
Serve as Project Engineer and/or Design Manager with full technical responsibility for planning, coordination, and execution of tasks for small or larger projects
Preparation of contract specifications and drawings
Planning, design and construction of new pipelines (pressure and gravity) or rehabilitation projects ranging in diameters and material type including condition assessment and prioritization and rehabilitation of existing pipelines
Pipe design calculations to determine pipe size, pressure class, external loads including trench design, pipe joint selection, etc
Utility investigations and coordination to determine and resolve potential vertical and horizontal utility conflicts
Field surveying project requirements
Sewer system evaluation surveys; inflow/infiltration studies
Development and review of technical reports, proposals, contract documents, resources studies, and data analysis
Office and field engineering support during construction
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on conveyance systems
Experience with the design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects
Experience with project management principles and practices
Experience with the layout and profiles of pipeline design in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Knowledge of subsurface and geotechnical engineering requirements
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
NASSCO certification
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Strong understanding of trenchless technologies
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software
