Responsibilities

The intern will develop a good understanding of Marine Technician basics. This includes:
Familiarity with schedule, track, assess, and repair equipment on U.S. Naval vessels
Planning and scheduling of onboard work with Ships Force to include perform serviceability inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment installed onboard
Troubleshoot and train S/F on how to repair/overhaul AFFF system, Main Drainage system, DC Locker Equipment, and CMWD Systems
Manage Ships Force with Technical oversite and equipment maintenance/repair/replacement
Manage Ships Force with Technical oversite and equipment maintenance/repair/replacement
Collaboration/Coordination with users/Ships Force to provide a "On Hands" approach/ technique specific to the Sailors individual strengths
Develop Marine Technician for training in material removal for field work
Participate in mission planning meetings and provide feedback on tools, schedule, tracking, assessments, and repair of equipment

Required

Must be Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service
Applications accepted within final 12 months of active-duty military service
Must have ability to maintain and possess a Secret security clearance
4 years of related experience, to include specific systems expertise
Familiarity with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM), International Standards Organization (ISO) Automated Work Request (AWR), Automated Work Notification (AWN), Blueprint reading, Diagrams, Engineering Operational Sequencing System (EOSS) and basic knowledge of tools
Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs
Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces
Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise, and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels
May ride ships at sea for extended periods
May require wearing a respirator
