Responsibilities

Performs radiographic procedures and a variety of technical procedures to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients that require independent judgement, in order to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnosis
Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as assigned
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide the appropriate care to the age of the patient served by the Department of Imaging Services

Qualification

NYS Radiologic TechnologistARRT certificationRadiographic proceduresManual skillsMotor coordination

Required

Requires two (2) years of college
General knowledge of a specialized or technical field normally associated with an A.A. or A.S. degree
No prior experience required
Three to six months required for learning period
NYS Radiologic Technologist; ARRT certification or eligibility
Significant manual skills/motor coordination & finger dexterity
Sedentary/light effort. May exert up to 10 lbs. force
Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc
