Senior Analyst VBC Performance

The Senior Analyst VBC Performance is responsible for tracking risk positions and understanding performance under VBC contracts to support the company's strategic goals, providing analytics supported by actuarial modeling.

Responsibilities
Applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and principles of business to enhance the data models and analytics within the Actuarial and Health Economics teams
Under limited supervision, updates and enhances models for predicting, evaluating and understanding performance under value-based contracting arrangements
Works with a team of financial analysts to assist with developing inputs to the revenue and external medical costs components of the annual financial plan
Proactively identifies data patterns and trends to provide insight which aids decision making capability for business planning, process improvement, solution assessment, etc
Analyzes and validates payer claims data. Assists markets to identify factors driving claims cost and estimates historical and prospective trends
Performs analytics using CMS public information to inform interpretation of Chenmed performance
Supports actuarial research, experience studies, and program impact analyses and calculations
Recommends actions for future developments and strategic business opportunities
Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion
Qualification
Required
Practical experience delivering outcomes using SQL, SAS, R, Python
Working knowledge and keen interest in data-driven insights, including machine learning applications
Good analytical, presentation and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationwide up to 10 % of the time
Spoken and written fluency in English
This job requires use and exercise of independent judgment
Minimum three (3) years of related experience
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in computer science, actuarial science, mathematics, economics, statistics, data science or finance
