Litigation Paralegal

LHH is seeking two Litigation Paralegal Positions – Construction & Professional Liability to support a well-established law office in Wilmington, NC. The roles will assist the legal team with various litigation tasks, focusing on Construction Litigation and Professional Liability, while requiring a strong background in North Carolina defense litigation.

Responsibilities

Track billable time daily
Open new case files and prepare conflict worksheets
Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery
Prepare settlement agreements and releases
Communicate with clients, counsel, experts, and court personnel
Coordinate with vendors for exhibits and imaging
Prepare chronologies and trial materials
Review and analyze documents for privilege and relevance
Cite-check briefs and organize case files
Schedule and summarize depositions and discovery responses
Perform legal and social media research

North Carolina defense litigationLegal software proficiencyNCFederal Rules knowledgeParalegal certificateTyping speed 50+ wpm

Required

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program
10+ years of experience as a paralegal
Typing speed of 50+ wpm
Familiarity with legal software for document management, billing, docketing, and e-discovery
Knowledge of NC and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence
