The Nuclear Med Tech is responsible for handling radioactive materials, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with health regulations while providing education to patients and families about the studies performed.

Responsibilities
Participates in Process Improvement activities
May be required to work at any facility
Provides safe patient transport
Handles, disposes, and decontaminates radioactive materials, while maintaining records of such under the regulations of the Florida Department of Health, Radiation Control
Maintains a working knowledge of all procedural changes and equipment updates
Demonstrates professional judgment and decision-making skills as required; solicits supervisory input as appropriate
Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of the patient studies
Responsible for patient and family education of the studies being performed
Participates in ensuring compliance with applicable regulations including but not limited to OSHA, The Joint Commission, FDA, NRC, EPA, and the Florida Department of Health
Qualification
Required
Must have knowledge of Nuclear Medicine equipment, procedures, and radiation safety
