REGIONAL SALES DIRECTOR - FRESH & READY, CA (REMOTE)

Compass Group USA is a leader in the foodservice industry, and they are seeking a Regional Sales Director for Fresh & Ready Foods. The role focuses on new business development for commissary sales across various channels, aiming to build partnerships and promote a portfolio of ready-to-eat food products.

Responsibilities

Develop a territory plan to maximize net new revenue across priority and self operated verticals (grocery, healthcare, education, convenience/retail, hospitality/resorts/casinos, airports/airlines)
Run full cycle selling: targeted prospecting, discovery & menu gap analysis, solution design (assortment/pack size/shelf life), pricing, sampling/tastings, RFPs, contracting, launch, and post launch optimization
Collaborate cross functionally with Culinary, QA, Production, and Logistics to ensure specs and service levels align with Canteen Commissary food safety standards and operational capabilities
Build data driven category stories—sell through, margin, waste reduction, and labor savings—and present compelling business cases to multi stakeholder buying teams
Maintain accurate CRM pipeline, forecasts, and next steps; provide weekly KPI updates and quarterly business reviews
Represent the brand at regional industry events and trade shows; consistently communicate our sustainability and food safety commitments

Required

Self motivated hunter with a track record of exceeding quota in foodservice/CPG or fresh prepared/grab and go sales
Experience with converting self operated prospects in one or more of: healthcare, education, grocery & convenience chains, hospitality (resorts/casinos), airport/airline concessions verticals
Excellent communication, discovery, and presentation skills; consultative and solutions oriented with high emotional intelligence for self operated client base
Strong command of sales cycles required to close multi site and/or multi stakeholder deals; disciplined CRM usage
Operational fluency (pack sizes, shelf life, logistics windows) and appreciation for QA/food safety standards in regulated environments
