Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms for procedures by ensuring all required instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and sterile
Scrub and assist surgeons during procedures, maintaining a sterile field at all times
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments and supplies promptly
Ensure correct counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after the procedure
Care for and handle surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols
Assist with patient positioning, draping, and prepping as needed
Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines to minimize risks to patients and staff
Support and participate in quality improvement activities within the center
Communicate effectively with team members, physicians, and patients

Required

Experience with ophthalmology is REQUIRED for this role
Proficiency in maintaining sterile technique and handling surgical instruments
Ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs during procedures
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of infection control standards and OR safety protocols
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Certified Surgical Technologist credential
At least 1 year of ophthalmology/eye procedure experience
Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or 2+ years of experience in the role
Prior experience in an ambulatory surgery center environment
Familiarity with multiple specialties, including orthopedics, ENT, and GI
