Research Technologist - Life Sciences - Senior Professional
Penn State University is seeking a Research Technologist - Life Sciences Senior Professional for the Assmann laboratory, which focuses on plant abiotic stress responses. The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting electrophysiology experiments and performing laboratory research under supervision, while also managing data and maintaining the lab environment.

Perform laboratory research under the supervision of Prof. Assmann
Perform electrophysiology experiments
Conduct confocal imaging
Prepare plant and animal cells
Maintain the lab including plant growth and maintenance
Dishwashing and autoclaving
Prepare stock solutions
Order supplies
Manage data
Participate in lab meetings
Work effectively in a team setting
Communicate well with team members and the PI
Keep clear records
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
Strong organizational skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work both semi-independently and collaboratively in a research team
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate clearly with team members and the PI
Experience with electrophysiology experiments
Experience with confocal imaging
Experience with microscopy
Experience with plant and animal cell preparation
General lab maintenance skills including plant growth and maintenance, dishwashing and autoclaving, preparation of stock solutions, ordering, and data management
Ability to participate in lab meetings
Ability to work effectively in a team setting
Ability to keep clear records
Data management skills using standard software
