Mount Sinai Health System is one of the largest academic medical systems in the New York metro area, and they are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Microbiology. The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct research on host cellular pathway remodeling during viral infections, particularly focusing on HIV-1 projects, utilizing advanced mass spectrometry-based proteomics technologies.

Responsibilities
Conduct research on host cellular pathway remodeling during viral infections with a focus on HIV-1 projects
Apply state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based proteomics technologies to assess pathways in an unbiased manner
Investigate the function of HIV-1 accessory genes
Identify novel, functional kinase-substrate interactions in viral and/or innate immune pathways
Identify novel roles of ubiquitin E3 ligases and deubiquitinases in viral and/or innate immune pathways
Qualification
Required
Recent Ph.D. in virology, microbiology, immunology, or a related field
Experience with HIV-1
Experience with one or more of the following techniques: primary cell culture, medium- to large-scale genetic screening (e.g, RNAi or CRISPR/Cas9), next-generation genomics, or mass spectrometry-based proteomics
Competency interpreting genome- or proteome-wide data using traditional programming (e.g., Perl, Python, C/C++) or a programming environment (e.g., R, Matlab)
