Responsibilities

Operate MRI scanners to produce high-quality diagnostic images

Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures and ensuring their physical and psychological comfort

Select and adjust imaging protocols based on diagnosis and patient condition

Start IVs and administer contrast media safely, following ACR guidelines

Maintain equipment and report malfunctions promptly

Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely imaging

Train and orient new staff, students, and job shadows

Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation processes

Qualification

ARRT MRI registrationMRI equipment knowledgeCross-sectional anatomyCPR certificationPatient care skillsSterile techniquesIV administrationCommunication

Required

Associate's degree or equivalent certificate in Radiography or MRI

ARRT MRI registration and current CPR certification required

1–2 years of MRI experience preferred

Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, MRI equipment, and sterile techniques

Excellent communication and patient care skills
