Psychologist, Psychiatry, (Novato), Full-Time, Days

The Behavioral Health Psychologist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a variety of mental health disorders, including but not limited to mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, and personality disorders
Conduct diagnositic assessments and evaluations, provide treatment and education, and provide follow-up appointments
Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and clinical guidelines
Provide clinical interventions, adjusting treatment plans as necessary for patient improvement
Collaborate with patients and families to ensure they are engaged in the care plan
Work closely with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and primary care physicians, to ensure coordinated care
Collaborate or consult with physicians or other prescribers to include the assessment of the need for additional treatment that may include medication or other medical evaluation
Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and care planning conferences
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education about mental health conditions and treatment options
Liaise with community providers including, but not limited to, case managers, schools or academic settings, or social services
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up care via the electronic health record system
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing mental health care
Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of patient confidentiality and care
Stay current with advancements in psychiatry, psychology, and behavioral health, attending relevant conferences, seminars, and training programs
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Qualification
Required
PhD or PsyD in psychology from an institution accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA)
Licensed by the California Board of Psychology
Preferred
Previous experience in outpatient or inpatient psychiatry, behavioral health, or a related field
Experience with telepsychiatry
