The Radiologic Technologist/CT Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures using ionizing radiation to produce diagnostic CT images and works under the direction of a Radiologist to ensure quality patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of technical procedures using ionizing radiation that requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to produce diagnostic computed tomography (CT) images

Work under the direction of a Radiologist to perform CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision for technical detail

Assume responsibility for designated areas of procedures and taking corrective action for minor equipment and/or computer malfunctions

Room set up, patient positioning, patient screening, image acquisition and quality control are the direct responsibilities of the Technologist

Acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care

Responsible for the safety of patients, visitors, and medical staff in the CT area while in care
