Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of real estate cases, providing expert legal guidance and representation
Draft and negotiate contracts related to real estate transactions, ensuring all terms protect client interests
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and client advice
Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings related to real estate matters
Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials for trial preparation
Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements in real estate transactions
Monitor changes in real estate laws and regulations to proactively advise clients on potential impacts
Assist in the development of legal strategies for complex real estate transactions or disputes

Required

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active DC license to practice law
Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on litigation and contract law
Strong skills in legal writing and analysis, with a proven ability to prepare comprehensive legal documents
Experience in client representation and case management, demonstrating strong negotiation skills
Knowledge of compliance and regulatory affairs as they pertain to real estate
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with clients and colleagues

Preferred

Familiarity with related areas of law such as intellectual property, employment, and corporate law is preferred
