Director of Strategy, Compliance Technology

Reunion is a leading platform for clean energy tax credits and compliance, and they are seeking a Director of Strategy, Compliance Technology. In this role, you will serve as the subject matter expert on tax credit compliance and help define additional areas of clean energy compliance while engaging with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Serve as the in-house subject matter expert on compliance with clean energy tax credit regulations, starting with prevailing wage and apprenticeship (PWA) compliance
Provide input to our team and to customers on complex and ambiguous questions related to tax credit compliance
Conduct deep research on evolving tax credit guidance and regulatory developments
Represent Reunion at conferences, webinars, and industry events as a thought leader on compliance technology
Work closely with clients to solve tax credit compliance challenges
Support Sales and Customer Success in establishing and maintaining credibility with clients
Serve as a trusted resource for clients on customer engagements
Serve as a senior expert in strategic partnerships and product development
Anticipate future compliance needs (e.g., Foreign Entity of Concern, domestic content, etc.) and shape Reunion’s roadmap accordingly
Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure Reunion’s software incorporates accurate compliance features
Develop and present materials to build credibility with finance and insurance partners

Required

5 to 8+ years of experience in tax, tax credit compliance, tax credits, or a related field
Demonstrated expertise in prevailing wage, apprenticeship, or related labor/clean energy compliance programs
Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to translate ambiguous regulatory guidance into clear strategies
Excellent writing and presentation skills, with a track record of creating high-quality customer- and executive-facing deliverables
Proven ability to operate in a high-autonomy environment and deliver results on nebulous, high-level projects
Experience working cross-functionally with product, legal, customer-facing, and leadership teams
Passion for clean energy, climate tech, or mission-driven compliance technology

Preferred

Experience advising or working with tax credit insurers, developers, or financial institutions
Prior experience in high-growth environments, such as a startup
