WAVY Unpaid Broadcast Engineering Intern, Spring 2026
Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Broadcast Engineering Intern for the Spring 2026 semester. The intern will work closely with IT and engineering staff to maintain broadcast systems, troubleshoot issues, and assist in the installation and testing of new services and software.

Responsibilities
Maintain broadcast systems
Identify problems
Assist in resolving rapidly to maintain highest levels of transmission reliability for the station
Participate in installation, testing, commissioning of new services and software
Troubleshoot TVU live packs and live capabilities (ENG and SAT trucks)
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled in a college degree granting program
Will be required to show proof of enrollment in an internship course within that program
Studying communications, engineering, or equivalent courses
Interest in broadcast engineering and live broadcast technologies
Interest in design, construction, and operation of complex broadcast systems
Willingness to learn the inner workings of a local newsroom
Ability to work Monday through Friday
12-15 hours per week on site
