New Grad, Entry LevelBaptist Health Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for their clinical practices. The Medical Assistant will coordinate direct patient care activities and provide clinical support to healthcare providers, including checking in patients, obtaining vital signs, navigating electronic health records, and assisting with medication requests.

Responsibilities
Check in patients
Obtaining vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, temperature) and medication reconciliation
Patient medical history information
Expediting patient flow
Rooming patients
Stocking clinic with supplies
Navigating electronic health record system (EPIC)
Scheduling and following-up with appointments
Assisting with medication fill and refill requests
Checking for prior authorizations and scheduling tests, procedures and consultations
Perform other procedures such as EKG, phlebotomy, lab tests and injections (once competency has been assessed)
Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients and physicians in a respectful manner
Uphold Baptist’s mission and core values that drive service excellence
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information
Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate to be received within 90 days
Prior working experience in a medical office/clinic performing clinical MA duties
Upon hire these disciplines will be assessed for clinical competency and be required to successfully complete an MA orientation | externship as well as complete any additional training as required by the Provider
Or completed any MA education program, but has not received certification as of yet
Upon hire these disciplines will be assessed for clinical competency and be required to successfully complete an MA orientation | externship as well as complete any additional training as required by the Provider
Preferred
Current MA Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, AAMP
Or graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current Licensure without restrictions
Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information
