Responsibilities
Design, development and/or deploy software services
Incorporate customer feedback into software products
Participate in code reviews to ensure quality
Participate with team on daily standups
Demonstrate working software
Monitor AWS costs and system health
Participate in design, requirement, and systems documentation
Immerse yourself in the tools and systems built by your teams
Evolve your language skills by staying current and improve efficiency using AI assisted code development tools
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. citizen
Bachelor's degree
Desired degrees: Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
Other degrees for consideration: Geography, Geographic information Systems (GIS), Geosciences, Remote Sensing, Cartography, Photogrammetry, or a related field
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience
5+ years demonstrated experience with programming, design, and development in Python or C++
Development experience with service-oriented software
Development experience with current frameworks
Experience working as a software developer
Knowledge of multi-tier, heterogeneous architectures and how they typically fit together
Understanding of what it takes to keep a software system or service healthy
Tremendous Organization and Communication skills
Knowledge of Agile Engineering Practices
Preferred
Master's degree in related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience
Strong sense of self-motivation is essential – must be willing to be actively involved in the details of the software system life cycle
Working knowledge of AWS or comparable cloud technologies
Geodesic and/or photogrammetric expertise
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
Strong troubleshooting skills
The ability to multi-task and function in a high stress environment
