They are seeking a 2026 Graduate - Research Biological Scientist to contribute to research and development projects aimed at understanding and mitigating biological threats, including emerging infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

Participate in both small and large teams and have the opportunity to work in a variety of laboratory and analytic environments
Write technical reports and publications, and publish/present results to the scientific community
Communicate key findings both internally across teams and externally to the broader research community while contributing on broad, high-performing teams
Leverage novel findings to advance mitigation strategies to reduce the impact of infectious disease on public and warfighter health, including development of detection and surveillance strategies
Contribute to a strong team in the design and execution of interdisciplinary efforts using advanced methods and technologies

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Biomechanical Engineering, Biophysics, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or related fields
Willing and able to work in Biosafety level 2 laboratories
Experience with general laboratory equipment and methods
Experience with eukaryotic tissue culture and/or microbial culture
Experience analyzing biological data and communicating technical concepts
Able to obtain Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship

Preferred

Experience working in Biosafety level 3 laboratories
Experience with primary and stem cell culture
Experience with Design of Experiments statistical methods
Demonstrated programming experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, R, or other scientific language or package
Demonstrated skills with modeling environments
An active TS/SCI Clearance
