The role involves managing payment processes, resolving claims issues, and serving as a resource for assigned payer groups.

Responsibilities

Ensuring timely receipt of payments from insurance providers

Identifying and proposing solutions for payment and denial trends

Performing accounts receivable follow-up and collections, including submitting replacement claims and appeals

Communicating with insurance representatives and handling payer calls to resolve claim processing issues

Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of assigned payer processes and updating documentation as needed

Leading monthly meetings for assigned payer groups

Serving as the subject matter expert and team resource for assigned payers

Assisting with month-end processes including write-offs, AR cleanup, and review of unapplied funds

Required

Bachelor's degree required

6 months of experience with health insurance, including payment application and claiming processes required

Experience with Microsoft Suite

Strong analytical and customer service skills

Ability to work in team environment

Ability to provide close attention to detail

Preferred

Experience with Cerner Millenium is a plus
