Responsibilities
Candidates are sought to enhance the Department’s focus on emerging technologies in Software Engineering, particularly with expertise, scholarly interest, and an excellent capacity for teaching and research in multiple areas within Software Engineering, such as software design and construction, requirements analysis, security, verification and validation, and software engineering processes
The successful candidate for the position must be able and willing to teach software engineering courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels as necessary
Tenure will be based on excellence in teaching, comprehensive scholarship, and service
Qualification
Required
A minimum of an earned Ph.D. in Software Engineering, Computer Science (with an emphasis in Software Engineering), Computer Engineering (with an emphasis in Software Engineering), or a related discipline is required (or evidence that the Ph.D. will be complete by August 2026)
Candidates must have expertise, scholarly interest, and an excellent capacity for teaching and research in multiple areas within Software Engineering, such as software design and construction, requirements analysis, security, verification and validation, and software engineering processes
The successful candidate must be able and willing to teach software engineering courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels as necessary
Tenure will be based on excellence in teaching, comprehensive scholarship, and service
Preferred
Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college level
Consulting or industrial experience is preferred
Experience with professional organizations such as ABET, ASEE, IEEE, ACM, etc., is highly desirable
