Internal Travel Respiratory Care Practitioner

Responsibilities

Initiating respiratory care, evaluating and monitoring patients’ responses to care, and modifying the prescribed therapy to achieve the desired objectives
Providing therapeutic interventions with oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, airway care, lung expansion and more
Updating care plans at least once per shift
Assessing information from respiratory parameter studies, peak flow measurements, pulse oximetry monitoring, cardiac output monitoring, and more
Participating in Inservice Education and obtaining 24 education contact hours per year

Respiratory CareActive LicensureBasic Life Support (BLS)Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)Advanced Life Support (ACLS)Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NBRC NPS)Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Required

Associate Degree or higher in an approved COARC program for Respiratory Care
Active licensure with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board upon hire and maintained yearly
3 or more years of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association Certification
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Advanced Life Support Certification (ACLS)
ECU Health Community Hospital positions require BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
ECU Health Children's Hospital positions require Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and completion of the NBRC NPS certification

Preferred

National Board for Respiratory Care Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NBRC NPS) preferred
ACLS as optional
