Responsibilities
Lead HS&E strategy and execution for five Omni facilities, partnering with Site Leads and Operations to maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and internal standards for warehouse and office environments
Own the HS&E roadmap for Omni operations, identifying high-impact initiatives and delivering them end-to-end, including business case, stakeholder alignment, implementation, change management, and KPI tracking
Strengthen and operationalize core general industry programs (e.g., Hazard Communication, Emergency Action Planning, Walking-Working Surfaces, Fire Prevention and Extinguishers, PPE, Recordkeeping) and close operational gaps typical to warehouse environments (e.g., powered industrial trucks, machine guarding, lockout/tagout), tailoring controls to each site’s risk profile
Stand up and continuously improve inspection, audit, and self-assessment mechanisms; create visible action plans; drive timely corrective and preventive action closure; and report trends and risk insights to leadership
Develop and maintain site-specific emergency preparedness, evacuation routes, muster protocols, and drill cadence; coordinate Safety Warden/Emergency Response programs and post-incident reviews
Build and maintain a scalable training matrix for general office and general warehouse topics; ensure role-based training, refreshers, and competency validation are in place, accurate, and documented
Partner with Site Leads on daily management of safety controls in dynamic warehouse settings, including pedestrian-vehicle separation, dock safety, racking standards and inspections, housekeeping, and incident prevention routines
Lead incident investigations using root cause methodologies; oversee corrective actions, lessons-learned communications, and prevention playbooks across sites
Establish practical leading and lagging metrics; calibrate goals for injury reduction, audit closure rates, training compliance, and risk remediation; publish regular performance dashboards
Collaborate with Facilities, Security, HR, Legal/Compliance, and Operations on cross-functional risks (e.g., workplace violence prevention, sanitation, first aid/medical services, electrical safety)
Serve as a subject-matter resource for office locations as needed, ensuring office safety standards, emergency readiness, and training remain current and effective
Manage vendor and third-party relationships supporting HS&E programs, as applicable; oversee documentation, record retention, and readiness for regulatory or client audits
Champion a culture of safety ownership, coaching Site Leads and frontline teams on hazard identification, stop-work authority, and continuous improvement behaviors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or related field; or equivalent practical experience
7+ years of HS&E experience with significant exposure to high-velocity warehouse, fulfillment, distribution, or manufacturing environments
Demonstrated ability to build and operationalize HS&E programs in multi-site settings; strong working knowledge of general industry expectations for warehouses and offices
Proven project/program leadership delivering business-impacting initiatives from concept to sustainment, with clear KPI attainment
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; effective at influencing site and senior leaders and driving adoption at the frontline
Strong analytical skills and proficiency with HS&E metrics, audit data, and corrective action management systems
OSHA 40 Hour General Industry Certification
Preferred
Professional certification(s) such as CSP, CHMM, ASP, CIH, CSHM, or PMP
Experience standing up and maturing programs common to warehouse operations (e.g., PIT/forklift safety, LOTO, machine guarding, racking safety, dock and yard management, pedestrian safety)
Experience designing role-based training matrices, site drill programs, and competency validation for both warehouse and office settings
Familiarity with incident investigation methods (e.g., TapRooT, 5-Whys) and risk assessment frameworks
Experience working with third-party logistics providers, client audits, or regulatory inspections
