InternMasTec Utility Services, known as Saiia Construction, is an industrial heavy civil contractor specializing in power generation and mining projects. The intern will assist the Projects Departments with quantifying materials and processes necessary for bidding and constructing civil projects.

Responsibilities
Construction & Quantity Takeoff
Develop AGTEK Earthwork 3D & 4D software skills for volume takeoff
Create accurate KMZ files using AGTEK 4D and Google Earth
Utilize AGTEK to:
Import and manipulate PDF and CAD drawings
Digitize and elevate contour lines
Define stripping areas, perimeters, sectional areas, and balance regions
Generate and interpret volume reports and cut/fill maps
Communicate effectively with subcontractors via phone and email to solicit proposals and pricing
Review bid documents (drawings, forms, specifications, Q&A, conditions, and schedules) and relay job details to subcontractors
Edit and distribute Saiia’s 'Invitation to Bid' documents
Manage Saiia’s Outlook subcontractor vendor list, adding and updating contacts
Populate and track subcontractor pricing using Saiia’s internal Excel vendor list
Navigate the Smartfile FTP site to:
Create and organize job files
Upload and share job documents with subcontractors
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Word, Outlook and Excel
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines while maintaining a focus on quality and process
Ability to maintain job or task focus in pressured or time-sensitive situations
Detail oriented and self-motivated
Willingness and demonstrative initiative to learn new programs, systems, and tools as they become
Enrolled as a full-time student in a Civil Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management
