Walmart Canada is seeking a Senior Manager for Data Science in AI Supply Automation to lead the development of intelligent, data-driven systems that optimize driver supply and fulfillment demand. The role involves collaborating with various teams to implement automation solutions and define key performance indicators for supply management.

Responsibilities
Develop systems that forecast driver availability and supply gaps at regional and national levels
Design and implement automation that activates supply levers (e.g., pings, positioning, incentives, messaging)
Partner with Operations, Product, Engineering and Data Science to scale intelligent decision-making across markets
Collaborate with Field Ops to test supply interventions and evaluate impact
Define and own supply-side KPIs (e.g., coverage rate, supply utilization, incentive ROI)
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in supply planning, logistics optimization, product analytics, or applied AI
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate data into operational impact
Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Mode)
Experience collaborating across product, operations, and technical teams
Effective communicator with an ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical audiences
Option 1: Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years' experience in an analytics related field
Option 2: Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field
Option 3: 7 years' experience in an analytics or related field
Preferred
Experience with reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, or behavioral segmentation
Background in marketplace logistics, gig economy, or AI-based operational systems
Experience designing and measuring the impact of automated interventions at scale
Familiarity with agentic system design and real-time system feedback loops
Ability to drive iterative thinking in ambiguous, fast-evolving problem spaces
Data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics
Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R
Supervisory experience
Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch)
