Responsibilities

Functions in a scrub role for operative and other invasive procedures including establishing and maintaining a sterile field, specimen handling, counts, medications/solutions, implants and instrument processing
May assist with circulating duties
Participate in activities related to standards and quality improvement for the specialty and the department
Serves as a preceptor and mentor
Acts as a specialty resource in three (3) specialties

Certified Surgical TechnologistOperating Room experienceSpecialtiesFirstSecond scrub rolesBasic Life Support

Required

Require active national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
Require a minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist or successful completion of Operating Room CST internship program
Require proficiency in three (3) or more specialty services
Require proficiency in first and second scrub roles
BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
CST: Certified Surg Technologist
