Junior Engineer
Orion Marine Group is seeking a Junior Structural Engineer for their Honolulu office. The role involves providing structural design engineering support for marine and heavy civil structures, ensuring project requirements are met through collaboration with Engineers and Project Management team members.

Responsibilities
Works with the Engineering & Structural Design team to achieve departmental goals and objectives
Collects data and gathers information or documents
Performs standard computations and analysis
Prepares drawings and visual aids
Observes construction activities to determine best design applications
Performs basic survey work as required
Applies prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established engineering criteria to perform assigned tasks
Works with Engineer team members to assist in successful completion of design project objectives
Assists in the inspection of existing waterfront structures and designing of repairs and/or upgrades
Responsible and accountable for incumbent's own personal safety
Responsible and accountable for the safety of all co-workers and any others incumbent comes into contact with
Authorized and obligated to stop work on any task or series of tasks whenever an unsafe condition or situation is anticipated or is observed
Complies with all applicable laws, regulations and Company policies and procedures, and is subject to appropriate disciplinary action (including dismissal) for failure to do so
Reports any and all violations of applicable laws, regulations or Company policies and procedures promptly, and is subject to appropriate disciplinary action (including dismissal) for failure to do so
Performs other related administrative and technical duties as may be assigned or requested by immediate supervision (such as certification training, safety training, procedure review, etc.)

Qualification
Required
BS Degree in Civil Engineering with a structural or geotechnical track
0-4 years of work experience
Completed Fundamentals of Engineering exam
Hold E.I. certification or E.I.T
Working knowledge of basic structural analysis using concrete and/or steel elements
Ability to quickly learn the technical aspects of the business
Effective communicator
Ability to interface well with employees at all levels of the organization
High degree of personal integrity
Discretion and trustworthiness
Ability to keep all Company information and materials strictly confidential
Well organized
Diligent
Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to independently identify work to be done
Flexible and ability to adjust to sudden changes in work priorities
