Sr. Equipment Electrical Engineer, Abuse Test Systems Engineering

The Equipment Electrical Engineer on the Abuse Test Systems Engineering team will own the electrical design and implementation of engineered abuse test solutions, collaborating across various Tesla programs including Energy, Vehicle, and Robotics.

Responsibilities
Lead system designer managing architecture and component level electromechanical design, validation and troubleshooting to deliver systems on tight and high-pressure deadlines
Participate in cross-functional development of product requirements
Agile concept development / CAD creation of concepts
Support internal product build, commissioning, and launches at a global scale
Electrical analysis
Specifying proper equipment/instruments for efficient use in systems
Documentation of an entire project (component drawings, assembly MIs, bill of materials, analysis, etc.)
Task tracking and collaboration in Jira/Confluence
Supplier coordination for high volume contract manufacturing
Collaboration with other engineers and technicians to develop excellent testing solutions
Qualification
Required
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience in test equipment design, battery design, or other applicable electrical engineering field or equivalent experience
5+ years showing technical aptitude for developing a system from concept to delivery (large electro-mechanical, rotating, and/or test systems preferred)
High level of understanding of high voltage, electrical principles, and power electronics
Demonstrated record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously and working in a high pressure, tight deadline situation
Ability to travel globally
