Responsibilities
Provides HIM support to the department as needed to comply with State, Federal and Regulatory requirements
This includes but is not limited to release of information, prepping, scanning, indexing and analyzing records in a timely and accurate manner
Strong communication, customer service, problem solving and interpersonal skills required
Must be organized, flexible and a team player
Must possess the ability to work independently and manage time to meet deadlines
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Three (3) years medical records MPI, Data Integrity, Document Capture, Record Analysis, Delinquent Record Monitoring and/or ROI
Epic EHR, MPI, Data Integrity, Document Capture, Excel
Strong communication, customer service, problem solving and interpersonal skills required
Must be organized, flexible and a team player
Must possess the ability to work independently and manage time to meet deadlines
Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information
Computer skills (including opening/reading email, internet use, basic excel and word)
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians and managers
Ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a hectic work environment
Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
Ability to exercise discretion and use good judgment
Requires the ability to recognize problem situations and refer them to the appropriate staff member or Supervisor
Work is subject to general review only and requires considerable accuracy and responsibility
Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
Preferred
Associate Degree preferred
RHIT is preferred
