Intern - Naturalist (Summer)
The State of South Dakota is offering a Naturalist Intern position for the summer session at the Lewis & Clark Recreation Area. The intern will assist in coordinating and presenting environmental education programs, developing media releases, and supporting park visitors and special events.

Responsibilities
Help coordinate, create and present environmental education programs for school groups and the general public
Be involved with the development of park's media releases: posters and public service announcements
Help with the coordination of special events
Greet and assist park visitors
Qualification
Required
APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
The applicant should have the ability to work with all age groups from children to adults
Must enjoy spending time outdoors and enthusiasm is a must!
Preferred
Preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior
Preference may be given to South Dakota residents
Preference may be given to students of South Dakota institutions
Courses that are favorable for the internship are Biology, Speech, Environmental Education, Park and Recreation, Public Relations, Botany and Ecology
