Manufacturing Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)

Pacific Scientific Energetic Materials Company (PacSci EMC) is an operating company under Ralliant, seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join their Operations team for Summer 2026. This internship is designed for students graduating in 2026–2027 who are eager to gain hands-on experience supporting production and process improvement in a high-tech aerospace and defense manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in analyzing, developing, and documenting methods, sequences, and specifications for manufacturing and assembly processes
Support sustaining and released product activities, focusing on efficiency, safety, quality, productivity, and cost
Help review product design drawings and contribute to work instructions and process procedures
Assist with process routings, labor standards, and cost estimates for proposals
Support the development of production process layouts and readiness plans
Contribute to tooling and fixture design for production and inspection activities
Participate in process capability studies, audits, and time studies to optimize performance and eliminate waste
Assist in documenting manufacturing processes, DCNs (Design Change Notices), and SWIs (Standard Work Instructions)
Support Lean initiatives including 5S, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement projects
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure manufacturability of designs
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required

Junior or senior standing in 2026 or 2027, currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment
Interest in Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and aerospace/defense production
Due to contractual and regulatory requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. PacSci EMC is a U.S. Department of State ITAR-regulated employer. To comply with ITAR-controlled contracts, this position requires U.S. citizenship

Preferred

Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD preferred
