Responsibilities

Lead a rigorous in-depth project from conceptualization through the dissemination of results
Answer a fundamental question intended to fill a gap in the literature
Aim to achieve both conceptual and technical advances in the field
Develop skills as a mentor and demonstrate confidence in communicating science
Conduct literature review, study design, equipment setup, performing experiments, data collection and analysis, meeting with the PI and other lab members, interaction with the Mount Sinai community, mentoring junior trainees, writing, and publication

Required

A doctoral degree in neuroscience, biology, psychology, engineering, computer science or other closely related field
Research background in neural circuits of behavior, systems neuroscience or computational neuroscience
Experience in programming skills (e.g., MatLab, Python)
Ability to lead a rigorous in-depth project from conceptualization through the dissemination of results
Capability to answer a fundamental question intended to fill a gap in the literature
Aiming to achieve both conceptual and technical advances in the field
Development of skills as a mentor
Demonstration of confidence in communicating science
