Research Scientist I - Microbiology and Immunology
The University of Texas Medical Branch is committed to innovative biomedical and health services knowledge, and they are seeking a Research Scientist I in Microbiology and Immunology. The role involves conducting scientific investigations related to host immunity and the pathogenesis of arboviruses and respiratory viruses, managing laboratory operations, and publishing research findings.
Responsibilities
Establishes research objectives and methodology, designs procedures, conducts research projects, analyzes, and interprets results
Manage computational laboratory operations, including staff development and adherence to applicable policies, laws, and regulations
Preparation and publication of manuscripts in peer review journals
Ensures proper training of Research staff, Pre and Post-Doctoral Fellows
Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure
Data and Statistical analysis
Ability to manage research projects with minimal supervision
Writing and presentation skills
Problem solving and creativity
Qualification
Required
PhD, MD, or DVM in Related Field
Demonstrable publication record in virology, and/or immunology
Good communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage research projects with minimal supervision
Writing and presentation skills
Problem solving and creativity
Preferred
Minimum of 3 years of prior Postdoctoral research experience
Prior experience with animal model (mouse) studies
