Sr. Data Engineer- First Dollar (Remote)
Inspira Financial is a company focused on providing health, wealth, retirement, and benefits solutions. They are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to create scalable data platform solutions that support internal analytics and customer-facing reporting functionalities.

Responsibilities
Contribute to dimensional modeling and the development of scalable data products
Perform data transformations using SQL and Python based data frameworks
Developing and maintaining batch and streaming ETL pipelines
Write and optimize SQL queries for internal analytics and reporting
Create and maintain Looker explores and business reports
Write and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform
Document data flows, Entity-Relationship Diagrams, and contribute to our data catalog
Improve data quality, reliability, and observability in our pipelines and datasets
Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and code reviews
Leverage AI as a tool, not a replacement - Candidates are expected to understand that AI is a power productivity multiplier while maintaining engineering judgment, and ensuring AI generated code meets quality standards
Full code ownership mandatory - Must understand, explain, and support all AI-assisted code as if written from scratch
Qualification
Required
5-7 years of experience in data engineering roles
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
Proficiency with SQL, Python, experience with TypeScript or Node.js is a plus
Solid understanding of cloud data warehousing concepts (preferably in Google Cloud)
Experience setting up ETL pipelines, and orchestration tools
Good understanding of data lakes
Familiarity with data governance concepts
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced data environment
Full code ownership mandatory - Must understand, explain, and support all AI-assisted code as if written from scratch
Infrequent travel (10%)
Ability to occasionally work overtime or after hours
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Preferred
Exposure to data privacy and compliance requirements is nice to have
Knowledge of data products and data mesh architectures
Nice to have: experience with MLOps and ML pipeline support
Practical AI experience - Comfortable using tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude for prototyping, debugging, and problem-solving
