They are seeking a Fire Protection Designer II who will be responsible for designing fire suppression systems, performing calculations, and preparing shop drawings with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
Perform calculations, determining system sizing and layouts, selecting equipment, completing field surveys, and preparing shop drawings
Design fire suppression systems with little supervision, create details and notes for construction documents, modify and understand specifications for fire suppression systems, and research and resolve building and fire related code and standard questions
Qualification
Required
Prior experience in design and layout of fire suppression systems
Strong understanding of NFPA codes and standards along with applicable building and fire codes
Performing calculations, determining system sizing and layouts, selecting equipment, completing field surveys, and preparing shop drawings
Confident in designing fire suppression system with little supervision
Create details and notes for construction documents
Modify and understand specifications for fire suppression systems
Proficient in researching and resolving building and fire related code and standard questions
Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design from an accredited technical institution or college; or commensurate experience
General knowledge in fire suppression systems
Proficient in the current version of AutoCAD and/or REVIT
Ability to interpret design criteria and convert it into specific layouts
NICET Level I or II certified
Strong spoken and written communications skills
Excellent organization and time management skills
Quick technical comprehension and motivation focused on client outcomes
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Effective working individually and within team environments
