Benefits Manager

Responsibilities

Advise and provide excellent customer service to employees on benefit related issues
Partners with stations managers and HR Leadership team to communicate various benefit policies, procedures, laws, standards and any other government/state regulations
Manage HRIS benefits system. Review benefit plan rules, premium update, plan changes, work processes, calculation changes, and so forth for all employee groups
Run eligibility extracts, reconciliations, create queries, and generate audit reports. Troubleshoot issues with IT and Payroll teams
Implement quality improvement processes to document and to improve current processes/procedures
Benefits Administration to update benefit enrollment/changes to HRIS
Input enrollment/change data in a timely manner to coincide with transmittal to vendors and payroll
Review, create and update summary plan descriptions and applicable policies to ensure accuracy of administration in plan documents. Ensure administrative compliance with numerous federal and regulatory requirements relative to employee benefit plans
Manage open enrollment process by creating and implementing a project plan and creating open enrollment documentation and employee communication materials
Conduct benefit information meetings with stations. Input and manage the HRIS benefits system to ensure accuracy
Conduct follow-up surveys, questionnaires, etc. to measure the effectiveness of information provided during open enrollment
Collaborate and troubleshoot with other functional areas/departments (Example: Recruiting, Employee Services, Payroll and Information Technology) on HRIS processes as their work/data entry impacts the Benefits system
Benefits Invoice reconciliation and Audits to ensure data accuracy
Prepares FMLA and ADA notices to employees and ensures proper documentation is submitted with requests. Tracks FMLA time during employee absences and ensures communication with the station
Ensures compliance with Form I-9 by sending weekly reports to stations and periodically auditing I-9 forms
Assists in gathering and preparing information for worker’s comp, DOT audits

Required

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required
Minimum of five (8) years of experience in Benefit Administration in a privately held organization
Extensive experience negotiating terms and rates with vendors
Ability to analyze data in order to determine the best course of action

Preferred

Experience with Ceridian Dayforce preferred
